Similar to the Millenium Falcon, the cell membrane is tasked with protecting its cargo and flight crew. Also, the cell membrane regulates what enters and exits the cell through protein channels, just like the entry ramp of the Falcon.
The nucleus is the most important part of the cell, directing other organelles and providing leadership to the other organelles. In this way the nucleus is similar to Luke Skywalker, as Luke is equally vital to the Star Wars universe. He is literally, their "only hope".
The cytoplasm is present throughout the inside of the cell, holding together the different organelles. The Force is also present throughout the Star Wars Universe, binding and connecting all living things.

Diffusion and Osmosis
Diffusion is a process by which solute molecules move from areas of high concentration to areas of low concentration.
Osmosis is a form of diffusion in which water molecules diffuse through a semi-permeable membrane.
The Rough and Smooth E.R.'s
The Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum
The Rough E.R. is the site where proteins are synthesized. It is easy to identify from its companion, the Smooth E.R. by its concentration of ribosomes on its surface. The Rough ER is similar to R2-D2 because of the toolbelt of important functions it provides through its proteins.
The Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum
The Smooth E.R. is different from the Rough in that it synthesizes lipids (fats) instead of proteins. It is similar to C3-PO because lipids are necessary to the cell. Although C3-PO may not seem important, his translation skills and sense of reason are important too.
The Mitochondria are the powerhouses of the cell. They provide energy for cell processes by converting stored food into ATP. They are similar to the Hyperdrive of the Millenium Falcon, which powers the crew's quests.
The Vacuoles are sacs found within the cytoplasm that provide storage for molecules that will later likely be turned into energy by the mitochondria. And just like the cell vacuoles 'eat' molecules, the Sarlacc Pit eats bounty hunters.
The Golgi Apparatus is a very important organelle. It's job is to sort, modify, and package proteins and other materials to be shipped throughout the cell. Han Solo is similar in that he also leads the life of a smuggler, packaging up important goods, and sometimes people, for transport.
The centrioles are responsible for organizing the motion of chromosomes, laying out the genetic groundwork of the cell. Ben Kenobi is like the centrioles because he too is a leader. Ben mentors Luke in the ways of the Force and helps shape Luke's destiny.
Lysosomes are responsible for breaking down lipids, carbohydrates, and proteins into smaller molecules the cell can use. It cleans up the cell by breaking down waste. With his great strength, Chewbacca is also very useful for breaking down things. Whether it's shooting stormtroopers with his crossbow or threatening to rip off someone's arms, Chewbacca is quite fearsome.
Vesicles are important organelles that carry modified proteins throughout the cell. They relay genetic information throughout the cell. Princess Leia is resembles vesicles because she too is carrying a message vital to the Rebel Alliance- the Death Star blueprints.
Peroxisomes are organelles that are dedicated to breaking down hydrogen peroxide. Similarly, Lando Calrissian also wants to break down something- the Galactic Empire.
Composed of amino acid chains and RNA, Ribosomes are responsible for producing proteins using RNA. Ribosomes are often called the 'workers' of the cell. In this way they are similar to Owen Lars, a humble moisture farmer who raises his nephew Luke to lead a virtuous life.
An Animal Cell
Phospholipids make up the cell membrane and are composed of three main components; fatty acid tails, a glycerol molecule, and a phosphate group. A double bilayer(two phospholipids) creates the cell membrane, with one head being hydrophilic and one being hydrophobic.
Cell theory is a unifying concept of life as defined by cells.
1. All living things are composed of cells.
2. Cells are the basic unit of structure and function in living things.
3. New cells are produced from existing cells.

The Cellular Secret:
It is a little known fact that all cells have microscopic intelligent life-forms living symbiotically in them, called Midi-chlorian. These microorganisms are what give an individual their connection to the Force.
