My Trip to Europe
By: Briana Price Eiffel Tower Most famous visited monument. Disneyland Paris Disneyland Paris represents the creator named Walt Disney. I remember when Brittany and I went to Disneyland Paris last summer vacation. In December 1990 Espace Euro Disney was opened to the public to show that Disney was constructing. We got so exited! Opening day of Disneyland Paris, there was about 500,000 visitors but barely 50,000 people had passed through the gates. It was crazy we could barely get in the entrance. French location won best out of all the Disney sites. It ranked on the top attractions for kids. Brittany and I wanted to be the first ones to see the castle. We were not the first to see the castle but we were one of the first to ride the roller coasters. The Eiffel Tower is the most famous and the most visited monument in Paris. When I went there Haley and I went ice skating. The skating rink is on the second floor. The Eiffel Tower was built for the Paris Worlds Fair. The fair was in 1889. My ancestors might have visited the fair. The Eiffel Tower soars more then 1,000 feet. Haley and I went all the way to the top. It was really cool. We seen someone figure skate too. The Eiffel Tower is pretty amazing. Kravica Waterfalls
I saw the Kravica in the summer of 2009. The gem of the region is the crystal clear water of the Trebizat River. The Kravica is southeast of Ljubuski. It is so beautiful, and when my brother got under the waterfall we got soaked. Kravica is one of the largest waterfalls in Herzegovina. My little sister she was glad she didn’t get wet from the waterfall because it took forever to dry. Kravica is the most impressive waterfall. We loved the swimming place too. The water felt good. The Karvica is my favorite swimming hole with the picnic and café area. My dad went to the Ljubuski winery while we swam. Sarajevo Bascarsija I absolutely love Sarajevo Bascarsija during the night time. Sarajevo is a city which even strangers feel at home. I thought it was so cool when I seen the endless hills and towering mountains. Sarajevo is the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In Sarajevo I felt like I could stay there forever, it was a timeless world in the city when we were walking around having fun. Sarajevo epitomizes a partial centuries old struggle against outside influences. We even learned how to speak some Bosnian! Few could communicate with some people at the stands once we knew what to say. A walk through Sarajevo is like a walk through its past. Every little detail’s there.
Roman Colosseum Emperors used the colosseum to entertain the public with free games. Like the time I went to the circus. The games were incredible and I won a big teddy bear. Those games were a symbol of prestige and power and they were a way for an emperor to increase his popularity. Games were held for a whole day, sometimes even several days in a row. They usually started with comical acts and animal displays. Then ended with fights between animals and gladiators or gladiators and gladiators. We seen one with a gladiator and a tiger. It was so scary when the tiger we saw jumped on the gladiator. It looked very painful. Mount Etna Mount Etna is Sicily's second largest city. It seemed never ending when I visited there. Mount Etna towers above Catania. My family wanted to stay at Mount Etna for a really long time. There is alot of eruptions there though. There is two types of eruptive activities that typically occur at Mount Etna. There is alot of natural attractions in Etna. I really liked the national park we went to. The main natural attraction of Etna is at it's highest mountain. Etna has a volcano. Lava flows from the foot of the voocano near mount Etna. My little brother was really confused but the tour guide explained it to him. My trip to Europe was really fasinating for my whole family. We had a lot of fun.
