The broadway production opened on the date of March 26, 1964 their first performance was located at the Winter Garden Theatre. Funny Girl had lasted 1,348 performances. The day they closed it down was on July 1 ,1967.
Funny Girl tells the life of Fanny Brice, who is an inspiring Broadway actress. She first starts of as the 'ugly duckling' having a hard time finding work on Broadway. Then, after having help from her dance instructor,Eddie, she becomes a major star. In the meantime she falls in love with this handsome gambler name,Nick Arnstein. After a long period of time of flirting they finally got married. Fanny turns away from her Broadway career to follow Nick, but one day they were broke she was forced to go back on the stage. At the end Fanny gives up all her money for a crazy buisness ventures of Nick's. Then Nick gets arrested and the pair brakes up.
The story is about Fanny. Fanny falls in love with Nick a gambler. She gives up her job to follow Nick, but she was forced to go back on stage when the couple was broke. Then after working so hard Fanny had to give up all her money, just for Nick's crazy business. Nick gets arrested and the couple breaks up. This all takes place in New York.
