The Strings Family
The sound is made by vibrations in the well of the wood instrument.
The longer and thicker the string, the lower the sound.
The tighter and thinner the string, the higher the sound.
Strings instruments produce sound through the vibration of stretching.
The lower you pluck, the lower the note the higher you pluck, the higher the note.
Made of different types of woods.
Strings which are made of steel,plastic/nylon, animal gut, vegetable fiber.
Strings from the bow are usually made of horse's hair from the horse's tail.

Materials
Pianos are technically string instrument.
Bows for violins can use up to 150 horse hairs.
A cellos proper name is violoncello, meaning little big viola.
Playing the violin burns approximately 170 calories per hour.
Over 70 different pieces of wood are put together to form the violin.
