Just What I Always Wanted! What is it? How does it work? Example? Thermo: warm!
Chromic: color! dye that changes color with temperature! Some dyes change from a color to clear, showing the color of the fabric underneath 2 Ways This Works:
-Liquid crystals
-Micro-encapsulate thermochromic system Liquid Crystals
-Molecular structure changes with heat
-Reflects a different color of light

-More common! Dye survives washing machine better than liquid crystals
-Heat causes a reaction between a color developer and a dye precursor
-Change from 2 separate chemicals to 1, vice-versa causes color change Very popular in late 1980s
-Featured on Beverly Hills, 90210 Started by a company called Generra Sportswear
