Is this a form of punishment?
Research found that there was a higher amount of premarital abstinence, less amount of sexual partners, and a less amount of sexual activity at all with individuals who identified as religious.

Sexual Guilt
Same study found that there was a positive relationship between sexual guilt and religiosity.
Sexuality: Capacity for sexual feelings
Guilt: The fact of having committed a specified or implied offense or crime.
