Transcript of Google

Google Google was founded on September 4th, 1998. Google was invented by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. They wanted to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. It was invented to organize the world's information and make it accessible anywhere. I think Google has impacted everybody. People use Google to find information quick. It’s a great way for people to find resources and facts. Google can’t necessarily filter EVERYTHING, so you should be careful what you look up and make sure you have stuff spelled right. Yes, there are other companies that are similar to Google. Other companies include Yahoo, Bing, and Dogpile. But, Google is #1 because it’s pretty much ad-free and it’s pretty basic. Google used to just be a search engine. Now they have Google docs., Google translate, Google sites, Google maps, Google news, and more! Google’s home page is a pretty clean site. There’s relatively no adds. Google has changed. Google used to be a private company. There wasn’t any “Google Doodles” (the fun little pictures that mark and event or birthday), which were introduced 1998. Fun Facts! 1. Google has a company dinosaur. 2. Google rents goats. 3. Google is dog-friendly. 4. Google’s “company snack” was Swedish Fish 5. The Google logo wasn’t centered until 2001. 6. The infamous “I feel lucky” is nearly never used. However, in court it was found that removing it would somehow reduce the Google experience. Users wanted it kept. It was a comfort button. 7. The name ‘Google’ was an accident. A spelling mistake made by the original founders who thought they were going for ‘Googol’. Thanks and I hope you enjoyed my presentation! Julie Stark
