That's because these "foods" either don’t offer your body much nutritional benefit or the benefit they do offer is outweighed by the damage they can cause. Many contain so called, "antinutrients," substances known to interfere with your body’s ability to absorb other key nutrients. These deficiencies can lead to an inhibited ability to recover from exercise and training. FACT
No. 3 Grass-fed beef has half the fat of grain-fed beef. Fish oils, preferably from small fish like Krill, are one of the best sources of Omega-3. Fats, like carbohydrates, can be used by your body for energy. Fruits like bananas, mangos, and pomegranates are high in sugar. Sugar spikes lead to insulin spikes which kill energy and trigger your body to store fat. Watch my blog for more on gluten, lectins, and insulin response. Grains really aren't found on the Paleo Template. We do find some resources making allowances for hard training athletes.
