In Romeo and Juliet there is multiple conflicts throughout the play. A lot of them involve Romeo and the two families; Montagues and Capulets. Conflict makes the play intriguing to read and without it, it would just be another love story with a happy ending.
Romeo and Juliet
The conflict in Romeo and Juliet and To Kill a Mockingbird are similar because in both books the conflicts between most characters are influenced by the society and the way they expect things to be. The society in both are very judgemental. In R&J, the conflict between the two families is much stronger because of the social expectations(how they think that the families have always been). In TKAMB, the conflict between Bob and Tom, also Atticus, is influenced by the way that the community of Maycomb feels about coloured people.
The conflict in Romeo and Juliet and To Kill a Mockingbird is different because in TKAMB, the conflict revolves around racism and it is more modern, where in R&J, the conflict revolves around the way the youth, (Romeo and Juliet) want it to be, when back then, they didn't have any say in how they lived their lives. R&J is a love story gone wrong, and TKAMB is a story based on racism and rumors.
