Freshman 101
Duke University
Welcome to Campus!
Things I wish I knew as a freshman...
Get Involved!
Typical Duke.
Getting off Campus
Here are a few tips to help you get better settled in at Duke, enjoy everything Duke has to offer, and to avoid being "that" freshman.
Duke has over 400 student groups!
If you missed the activities fair, it is still not too late!
It can be really important to get off campus sometimes to get away from all the craziness!
Ways to Get off Campus
Enterprise CarShare: cars on campus you can swipe into by the hour or by the day
Enterprise on Hillsborough Road has a special deal with Duke: students over 18 with insurance can rent a car.

(Cheaper if you want to go somewhere overnight!)

Start the year off right!
Go to office hours! You get to know your professor and get things explained in a new way. It might even help you avoid this situation
Get a little Cameron Crazie!
A lanyard around your neck is the easiest way to spot a freshman.
Some more tips...
Living on East is a one-time awesome experience! Enjoy it.

Marketplace is not that bad... You get to see everybody you know!

You probably don't need to carry all your textbooks to class

Get to know your personal librarian! They really come in handy when you have to do a lot of research

Get to know people who are in your major

Take your vitamins! Getting sick a lot sucks and is very easy to do while living in dorms
