Got a Bachelor's degree from University of Texas

Earned her Doctorates in Mathematical Sciences from Rice University

"I felt that having a PhD would give me more career options and more direct control and responsibility over the kind of problems I could work on."

Gonzalez is now a Geophysical Mathmetician at Exxon Production Reasearch company

develops the mathematical basis for seismic imaging tools used in the exploration and production of oil and gas reservoirs

Her data and calculations produce images and diagrams used in decision making of drilling and exploration. she became the first U.S.-born Hispanic woman to earn a doctorate in mathematics.

In 1980 Gonzalez joined the Exxon Production Research Company
