Introduction

Istanbul was Europe's Capital of Culture Founded on the Sarayburnu promontory around 660 BC as Byzantium, the city now known as Istanbul developed to become one of the most significant cities in history.
Population and size
The city of Istanbul is home to over 14 million citizens with an area of 5,343 km2 making it the largest city in Turkey and the fourth largest in the world .

Hagia Sophia

Hagia Sophia is a former Greek Orthodox patriarchal basilica, later an imperial mosque, and now a museum in Istanbul
The Blue Mosque
The mosque is popularly known as the Blue Mosque for the blue tiles adorning the walls of its interior.
Topkapi Palace
The Topkapı Palace is a large palace in Istanbul, Turkey, that was the primary residence of the Ottoman Sultans for approximately 400 years of their 624-year reign
