Resources Why I Wanted to Research this Topic Pit Bulls Prevention Different Views on Pit Bulls What is a pit bull? A pit bull is exuberant, affectionate, loyal, block-headed, athletic, ridiculous, occasionally stubborn, challenging, rewarding, and loved. A pit bull is American, and like most Americans these dogs are a jumble of DNA and contradictions, which is, naturally, what pit bull lovers love most about their dogs. Causes Interesting Facts About Pit Bulls Pit bulls are a large part of Dog Lost. Cash, a pit bull is a main character in Dog Lost. Pit bulls connect to Dog Lost in many ways. First, in the book, pit bulls are not liked because the people think they are aggressive which put them on the verge of being banned. Second, pit bulls are used for dog fighting- which is why they are believed to be so vicious. I think that breed discrimination is an important social issues. Pit bulls are affected the most by the discrimination. I have decided to do my project on pit bull discrimination so that I can change the way that people look at pit bulls. The Humane Society has a big part in the prevention of dog abuse/fighting, which leads to their discrimination. The Humane Society rescues animals. They also provide a safe shelter and hospital for all animals. The Society will make sure that the person looking to adopt the animal is able to take good care of the dog, which helps prevent the possession of dogs used for fighting or other training. e-u Direct quote from http://dogspired.com/news/pit-bulls-th ltimate-urban-dog/ Some causes of pit bull discrimination are

People need to be reminded that pit bulls are still dogs, not "killing machines". My opinion is that pit bulls make gentle, loyal pets. But unfortunately, it is the abusive owners that give pit bulls such a bad name. Google Images Google Images
