Nutrition and Activity Promotes Good Mental Health
Everything grows with water!!
Staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water is just as important as daily activity and eating good food!
Drink whenever you're thirsty
when its warm out or you are exercising!

Keep a water bottle close by!
Team sports are a fun way to
get exercise
make friends
let go of stress
learn coping skills
build self-esteem
adults are not the only ones who can suffer from depression and anxiety.....
Eating healthy food, being active everyday and spending quality time with family promotes good mental health!
Building a strong foundation creates a lifetime of benefits.
"Experts believe that exercise releases chemicals in your brain that make you feel good. Regular exercise can also boost your self-esteem and help you concentrate, sleep, look and feel better" (Mental Health Foundation)
Walking the family pet
playing team sports
cleaning the house with mom or dad

spending time outdoors improves heart health and lung strength.

Spending time with mother nature is good for letting go of stress and helps us to relax

Daily Activity
-its fun to cook together!
-plan meals as a family
-make healthy snacks

choose foods that don't have added sugar, we want to keep our teeth so we feel good about smiling and laughing

choose real fruit over fruit juice, it has more fiber and will make you feel fuller
4 -6 pieces of fruit and veggies
4-6 types of grains
3-4 kinds of dairy
1-2 sources of meat or protein

You all need water!!!
by playing sports kids learn how to handle disappointment when they lose, and how to work together to win
sports are great for both the players and the community, fans can "bask in the reflected glory" BIRGing improves the mood of everyone!
team sports build connections and helps you to feel like you
belong along with lasting relationships with teammates

both physical and mental health affects how we think, feel and act on the outside and on the inside. It is important to look after our physical and mental health because they work together for our ability to succeed in society, at work and in our relationships with family and friends.
