after the lost years, scholars found out that In 1592 there is evidence that Shakespeare was an actor and a playwright in London.
By 1597, 15 of the 37 plays he has written were published.
Shakespeare was very inventive, creative
It was after the 1600s that Shakespeare wrote his famous tragedies.
He was realistic, meaning he didn't elieve in "happily ever after"
Many scholars believed that Shakespeare wrote his own plays.
Death...(Dun Dun Dun!!!)
Tradition has it that he died on his birthday but scholars don’t believe in that myth. Church records say that he was laid to rest on April 25, 1616.
He left most of his belongings to his daughter,Susanna
Very little was given to his wife and because of that people think that they had problems in their marriage though there is little evidence.
People who believe in Shakespeare’s authorship say that just because there isn’t enough evidence doesn’t mean that he never existed.
What might be true is that he was a well respected man of the arts who made plays and acted in the 16th and17th century.
He wasn’t recognized until the 19th century
During the Romantic and Victorian periods, he and his work reached great heights.
In the1900s, new movements in scholarship and performance have founded and adopted his works.
Today, his plays are popular and studied also reinterpreted in different cultural and political contexts.
There are no records of his school life, but scholars believe that he went to King's New School in Stratatford where he grew up
Since he was a public official's son, they do believe that he went to school
Not knowing about his school life has led to questions whether Shakespeare existed or not
When he was 18, he got married to Anne Hathaway (not the actress) on November 28, 1584 which made her 26 years old
Their first child was named Susanna who was born on May 26, 1583
Two years later on Febuary 2, 1585, twins Hamnet and Judith were born. However, Hanet died at age 11 for unkown causes
After the twins were born, there was a time in Shakespeare's life where no records are found. Scholars call it the "Lost Years
