Persistance of Memories
Spellbound
This painting shows a man "hatching" out of the United States with its hand grabbing England; made in 1943. This, to me, represents how the United States was becoming a world power, helping England fight off Hitler, but also putting them, and Europe in to an extreme amount of debt o be paid back to the United States.
Geopoliticus Child
Created in 931- it's dali's most famous work. It shows melting clocks and a melting horse laying down in the middle. To me it represents that as time passes some memories persist while others start to fade or even blur into others.
