Transcript of The solar system

The solar system By Akashdeep Mall The sun The moon is the only natural satellite of the earth, and also it is the fifth largest satellite in the solar system. The moon is (384,400 km) away from the earth. It is also the second brightest object in the sky after the sun. The moon gives us light at night so we can see outside,so without the moon we won't be able to see outside because it is dark. The moon is 4.5 billion years old.The moons surface is rocky also The moon's surface shows alot of evidence of asteroids. The moon is made up of alot of different types of rocks, the types of rocks are known as breccias. Mars Mars is the fourth planet from the sun and it is the second smallest planet in our solar system. Also Mars is 227,900,000 km away from Sun. Mars has 2 moons which their names are Deimos and Phobos.Mars body is rocky like the planets Mercury, Venus, and Earth.Mars is the seventh largest planet in our Solar System.Mars also has seasons polar ice caps, volcanoes, canyons and weather. The volume is 163,115,609,799 km3 and also the mass is 641,693,000,000,000,000,000,000 kg Venus Venus is the second planet from the sun.It is the brightest object in the Solar System after the sun and moon.Venus is a little smaller than Earth, and it is similar to Earth inside. The atmosphere of Venus is made up mainly of carbon dioxide, and thick clouds of sulfuric acid completely cover the planet. The volume of Venus is 928,415,345,893 km3 and the mass is 4,867,320,000,000,000,000,000,000 kg.Venus is also made of intense heat and volcanic activity.Venus and Earth are similar in size, composition, and mass and the difference is that Venus does not have oceans and human life. Neptune Neptune is the eighth and farthest planet from the sun in our Solar System.Neptune is the fourth largest planet in the Solar System by diameter and also it is the third largest by mass.Neptune is larger in mass than Uranus. The mass of Neptune is 102,410,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 kg,the volume is 62,525,703,987,421 km3. Uranus The planet Uranus is the seventh planet from the sun.it is the third largest by diameter also It is the fourth largest planet in mass in the Solar System.Uranus is 2,877,000,000 km away from the sun.Uranus is larger in diameter but smaller in mass than Neptune.Uranus is made primarily or rocks and various ices,it is also made up of 15% hydrogen and a little helium. The atmosphere of Uranus is about 83% hydrogen, 15% helium and 2% methane. The volume is 68,334,355,695,584 km3.The mass is 86,810,300,000,000,000,000,000,000 kg. The sun contains about 99.8% of all the mass in the solar system. The temperature of the sun is 5,500 degrees celsius Scientists have named the sun the sol. The sun gives us natural light in our world and makes the weather hot and warm. The sun is the star of the solar system and the sun is in space. The sun is the closest star to us. The sun is a huge, glowing sphere of really hot gas. The sun was born roughly 4.6 billion years ago.The sun is made of really hot gas,72% is hydrogen.Without the sun there would be no life on Earth. The sun is also made of 26 percent helium and some amounts of other elements called oxygen, carbon, neon, nitrogen, magnesium, iron and silicon. The volume of the sun is 1,409,272,569,059,860,000 km3 and the mass is 1,989,100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 kg.
The sun is 149,597,900 km away from the Earth. The sun is 1,392,000 km away from the Earth. The sun helps us dry clothes, make plants/flowers and trees it gives us vitaman d and without the Sun it will always be chilli outside. The Earth's moon The earth The earth is made of air, water, land and life. The earth is the third planet from the sun, and also it is the fifth largest planet in the solar system and the third planet from the sun.The earth keeps us on land and gives us water and a place to live. The earth is in space, like all of the other planets. Our atmosphere contains 21% oxygen, which is necessary for us to breathe, 78% nitrogen, and .9% argon. The other 0.1% consists of water vapor, carbon dioxide, neon, methane, krypton, helium, xenon, hydrogen, nitrous oxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, and ozone. The time that it takes the Earth to go around the Sun is what we call a year. Mercury Jupiter Saturn Mercury is the smallest planet in our Solar system.Mercury is 57,910,000 km away from the sun.Mercury is only slightly larger than Earth's moon.Mercury is always close to the sun because the planet is the second planet from the sun.Mercury volume is 60,827,208,742 km3.Mercury has zero moons.Mercury's mass is 4,867,320,000,000,000,000,000,000 kg. Mercury's atmosphere is very thin and is composed of helium and sodium.Mercury has a large core of liquid metal surrounded by a mantle of silica and a solid outer crust.Mercury’s surface is similar in appearance to the Moon.Mercury goes around the sun faster than any other planet because it is the closest to the sun.Mercury is made of heavier materials, like iron. Jupiter is the largest planet in the Solar System and also the fifth planet from the sun.The mass of Jupiter is twice than massive than any other planet. It is the fourth brightest object in the sky (after the Sun,the moon and Venus. The volume is 1,431,281,810,739,360 km3 and the mass is 1,898,130,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 kg.
Jupiter has four large moons and many smaller moons it forms a kind of miniature solar system. The planet Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun,and also it is the second largest planet in the solar system, after Jupiter.Saturn is 1,433,000,000 km away from the sun.Same Like Jupiter, Saturn is about 75% hydrogen and 25% helium with traces of water, methane, ammonia and rock. The volume of Saturn is 827,129,915,150,897 km3 and the mass is 568,319,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 kg.Like Jupiter Saturn is made mostly of hydrogen and helium.Saturn is mostly know for it's rings. Asteroids Asteroids are rocky, airless worlds that orbit our sun,but it is really too small to be called planets in our Solar System.Scientists have found more than 90,000 Asteroids.Asteroids are also known as planetoids or minor planets. But you may think they can't do anything because they are really small but they are really dangereous.Asteroids are made of rock, metals, broken pieces of planets and other elements some Asteroids are even made of water.Asteroids are left over materials from the formation of the Solar System.Asteroids only hit the Earth every 100 million years or so.Ceres is thought to be the biggest Asteroid in the Solar System.A Asteroid come last month it was called 2012 DA14.An Asteroid is not a Comet.
Merteoroids A Merteoroid is a sand-to boulder-sized particle of debris in the Solar System. They are rocks that fall to Earth from space, they also are named after the place that they are found. Most Merteoroids are very small but they also can be huge and weigh more than a car. A little number of meteorites are made from particles from other planets they are called non-asteroid meteorites. Some of these come from Mars. What creates light and reflects light? Reflected light is created when light from a light source, such as the sun, reflects off an object.
Objects that reflect light.
-The sun
-The moon
-Natural Satillites
What creates light
-Celestial planets
For example the sun creates light by their is a huge amount of hydrogen in the core, these atoms stick together and fuse into a helium atom and then the energy is then radiated out from the core and moves across the solar system.

The stars make their own energy in the star’s center, or core, where pressures are enormous and temperatures reach 15 million°C. This causes nuclear fusion—atoms of hydrogen are ripped apart and fuse (join) to form helium. These reactions release vast amounts of energy, which makes the star shine. Satellites
(man made and Natural Satellites help us observe earth from space it helps us by gives us information on oceans, ice, land environments and the atmosphere. The satellites help us monitor and protect our environment.A satellite is a moon, planet or machine that orbits a planet or star for example The moon is a satellite because it orbits Earth.Usually, the word satellite refers to a machine that is launched into space and moves around Earth or another body in space.Thousands of Natural, or man-made, satellites orbit Earth. There aren't Satellites to only protect our environment there are satellites for communications, such as beaming TV signals and phone calls around the world.A satellite is made of many shapes and sizes, but most satellites have at least two parts in common the antenna and the power source. The power source can be a battery or a solar panel, the sonal panel works by it makes power by turning sunlight into electricity.Satellites go up in space by they are launched in rockets to space. The End!
Hope you enjoyed TIDES Tides are rises and falls of large bodies of water.Tides are caused by the interaction between the Earth and the Earths Moon. There are different types of tides like.

Spring Tides:When the moon is full or new, the gravitational pull of the moon and sun are combined. They occur when the Earth, the Sun, and the Moon are in a line.Spring tides are especially strong tides. Eclipse Neap Tides:Neap tides are especially weak tides. They occur when the gravitational forces of the Moon and the Sun are perpendicular to one another.Neap tides occur during quarter moons. The Proxigean Spring Tides:is a rare tide unusually high tide. This very high tide occurs when the moon is both unusually close to the Earth. Motions of the Earth,Moon and sun. A lunar eclipse:ocurs when the moon passes through the shadow of the earth. A lunar eclipse can last up to an hour and a half. During a lunar eclipse the moon may turn a reddish color. It is not dangerous at all to look at a lunar eclipse because the moon does not make its own light. A Solar Eclipse occurs when the moon goes in front of the sun and blocks most of the sun's light from the earth. During a total eclipse all you can see from earth is a ring of light around the moon which is part of the sun the moon did not cover. It is dangerous to look at a solar eclipse directly, even if you are wearing sun glasses or something else that can protect your eyes. Comets Comets are left over from the formation of stars and planets billions of years ago.Comets are rare objects in the night sky.A comet is a small world made out of dust and ice.Comets come from The Kuiper Belt and the Oort Cloud.A comet will spend billions of years in the Kuiper Belt or Oort Cloud then leave in the Solar System but they melt when they get in the inner Solar System The Earth orbits around our Sun and Moon not the Sun and Moon orbit around the Earth. When it is 5:00 in Canada Brampton the Moon starts to come. The Sun comes sometimes in Winter and most of the time in Summer. When the Moon is facing the half of Earth the other half is facing the sun. When you see the clouds move that means the Earth is moving.
