The solar system
Transcript of The solar system
The sun is 149,597,900 km away from the Earth. The sun is 1,392,000 km away from the Earth. The sun helps us dry clothes, make plants/flowers and trees it gives us vitaman d and without the Sun it will always be chilli outside. The Earth's moon The earth The earth is made of air, water, land and life. The earth is the third planet from the sun, and also it is the fifth largest planet in the solar system and the third planet from the sun.The earth keeps us on land and gives us water and a place to live. The earth is in space, like all of the other planets. Our atmosphere contains 21% oxygen, which is necessary for us to breathe, 78% nitrogen, and .9% argon. The other 0.1% consists of water vapor, carbon dioxide, neon, methane, krypton, helium, xenon, hydrogen, nitrous oxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, and ozone. The time that it takes the Earth to go around the Sun is what we call a year. Mercury Jupiter Saturn Mercury is the smallest planet in our Solar system.Mercury is 57,910,000 km away from the sun.Mercury is only slightly larger than Earth's moon.Mercury is always close to the sun because the planet is the second planet from the sun.Mercury volume is 60,827,208,742 km3.Mercury has zero moons.Mercury's mass is 4,867,320,000,000,000,000,000,000 kg. Mercury's atmosphere is very thin and is composed of helium and sodium.Mercury has a large core of liquid metal surrounded by a mantle of silica and a solid outer crust.Mercury’s surface is similar in appearance to the Moon.Mercury goes around the sun faster than any other planet because it is the closest to the sun.Mercury is made of heavier materials, like iron. Jupiter is the largest planet in the Solar System and also the fifth planet from the sun.The mass of Jupiter is twice than massive than any other planet. It is the fourth brightest object in the sky (after the Sun,the moon and Venus. The volume is 1,431,281,810,739,360 km3 and the mass is 1,898,130,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 kg.
Jupiter has four large moons and many smaller moons it forms a kind of miniature solar system. The planet Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun,and also it is the second largest planet in the solar system, after Jupiter.Saturn is 1,433,000,000 km away from the sun.Same Like Jupiter, Saturn is about 75% hydrogen and 25% helium with traces of water, methane, ammonia and rock. The volume of Saturn is 827,129,915,150,897 km3 and the mass is 568,319,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 kg.Like Jupiter Saturn is made mostly of hydrogen and helium.Saturn is mostly know for it's rings. Asteroids Asteroids are rocky, airless worlds that orbit our sun,but it is really too small to be called planets in our Solar System.Scientists have found more than 90,000 Asteroids.Asteroids are also known as planetoids or minor planets. But you may think they can't do anything because they are really small but they are really dangereous.Asteroids are made of rock, metals, broken pieces of planets and other elements some Asteroids are even made of water.Asteroids are left over materials from the formation of the Solar System.Asteroids only hit the Earth every 100 million years or so.Ceres is thought to be the biggest Asteroid in the Solar System.A Asteroid come last month it was called 2012 DA14.An Asteroid is not a Comet.
Merteoroids A Merteoroid is a sand-to boulder-sized particle of debris in the Solar System. They are rocks that fall to Earth from space, they also are named after the place that they are found. Most Merteoroids are very small but they also can be huge and weigh more than a car. A little number of meteorites are made from particles from other planets they are called non-asteroid meteorites. Some of these come from Mars. What creates light and reflects light? Reflected light is created when light from a light source, such as the sun, reflects off an object.
Objects that reflect light.
What creates light
For example the sun creates light by their is a huge amount of hydrogen in the core, these atoms stick together and fuse into a helium atom and then the energy is then radiated out from the core and moves across the solar system.
The stars make their own energy in the star’s center, or core, where pressures are enormous and temperatures reach 15 million°C. This causes nuclear fusion—atoms of hydrogen are ripped apart and fuse (join) to form helium. These reactions release vast amounts of energy, which makes the star shine. Satellites
(man made and Natural Satellites help us observe earth from space it helps us by gives us information on oceans, ice, land environments and the atmosphere. The satellites help us monitor and protect our environment.A satellite is a moon, planet or machine that orbits a planet or star for example The moon is a satellite because it orbits Earth.Usually, the word satellite refers to a machine that is launched into space and moves around Earth or another body in space.Thousands of Natural, or man-made, satellites orbit Earth. There aren't Satellites to only protect our environment there are satellites for communications, such as beaming TV signals and phone calls around the world.A satellite is made of many shapes and sizes, but most satellites have at least two parts in common the antenna and the power source. The power source can be a battery or a solar panel, the sonal panel works by it makes power by turning sunlight into electricity.Satellites go up in space by they are launched in rockets to space. The End!
Hope you enjoyed TIDES Tides are rises and falls of large bodies of water.Tides are caused by the interaction between the Earth and the Earths Moon. There are different types of tides like.
Spring Tides:When the moon is full or new, the gravitational pull of the moon and sun are combined. They occur when the Earth, the Sun, and the Moon are in a line.Spring tides are especially strong tides. Eclipse Neap Tides:Neap tides are especially weak tides. They occur when the gravitational forces of the Moon and the Sun are perpendicular to one another.Neap tides occur during quarter moons. The Proxigean Spring Tides:is a rare tide unusually high tide. This very high tide occurs when the moon is both unusually close to the Earth. Motions of the Earth,Moon and sun. A lunar eclipse:ocurs when the moon passes through the shadow of the earth. A lunar eclipse can last up to an hour and a half. During a lunar eclipse the moon may turn a reddish color. It is not dangerous at all to look at a lunar eclipse because the moon does not make its own light. A Solar Eclipse occurs when the moon goes in front of the sun and blocks most of the sun's light from the earth. During a total eclipse all you can see from earth is a ring of light around the moon which is part of the sun the moon did not cover. It is dangerous to look at a solar eclipse directly, even if you are wearing sun glasses or something else that can protect your eyes. Comets Comets are left over from the formation of stars and planets billions of years ago.Comets are rare objects in the night sky.A comet is a small world made out of dust and ice.Comets come from The Kuiper Belt and the Oort Cloud.A comet will spend billions of years in the Kuiper Belt or Oort Cloud then leave in the Solar System but they melt when they get in the inner Solar System The Earth orbits around our Sun and Moon not the Sun and Moon orbit around the Earth. When it is 5:00 in Canada Brampton the Moon starts to come. The Sun comes sometimes in Winter and most of the time in Summer. When the Moon is facing the half of Earth the other half is facing the sun. When you see the clouds move that means the Earth is moving.
