Farewell Gift & Memorial
Meaning & Significance
"Therefore put on your full armor of god, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand"
"for I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope"
"Jesus came to give us life. We dont have to hang on a cross like he did. For him, it was a sacrifice. For us, it is a gift".
The meaning of the Farewell Gift & Memorial...
~Jesus farewelled his 11 deciples at the last supper before handing out he eucharist which consisted of the bread and the wine as a symbol of his body and blood. He said his final goodbyes and told them to love one another and that the Holy Spiritwould guide them.
~When i said goodbye to my mum before she left for wellington for the next 16 weeks i had spent the last 2 days with her shopping around wellington city, when we had to drop her off I had hugged her for a long time not wanting to let go. As a goodbye to my mum i gave her 1 final hug and a kiss on the cheek then left her where i wouldnt see her properly for 16 weeks.
The meaning of Sacrifice...
~Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for us by giving up his life. He sacrificed his life by suffering on the cross so he could restore the relationship wih God that had been ruined by human sin. For God to give up someone who he really loves is like taking something really important to you and leaving all but scars behind.
~I had to Sacrifice my mum. I went from seeing her every single day to not seeing her at all for 16 weeks, I call my mum 1-2 times a week if she isnt to busy with her study. I only get to talk to her for around 15-20 minutes and in that time I tell her about my week and she tells me all about hers, it has been a risky sacrifice to take but im happy we made this decision.
~Farewell gift & memorial
"Make it a day of real thanksgiving in which we fall on our knees and give humble and sincere thanks to God"
~Thanksgiving is a time when we celebrate the existance of Jesus in our lives. Jesus is alive in our hearts, bodies, and minds when we take part in receiving the Eucharist. We give thanks to Jesus for sacrificing his life to mend our future relationships with his Father.
~I give thanks to my mum for everything she has done for me, my whole life she has cared for me and comforted me in times on need. She put her dreams on hold for me so im thanking my mum and making her finally persue her dream! It doesnt compare to what she has done for me but its a start.
Task 2: My Fake Friend
~Why do you go to mass? What do you get out of it?
-I go to mass every Sunday to connect with Jesus and relect of the sacrifice he has made for us, i go and learn about his sacrifice so i can understand how much he really wanted to fixed the relationship between God and his children.
