Common Cause
westpointaog.org
West Point Association of Graduates
We begin to re-architect the website now that we have a thorough understanding of the target audiences and their needs and behaviors.

Information Architecture

How we capture the organization's needs:

Discovery Interviews
with Core Project Team and Internal Stakeholders
Discovery Worksheet
Website Goal S.W.O.T. Analysis
Target Audience Segment and Task Analysis
Creative Brief

First we explore and evaluate the organization's needs.
Michigan Humane Society

All of our research and collaboration converges where the visual design
solution becomes invisible and the user experience comes forward.

Visual Design

User Research: Usability Testing

Through click, navigation flow and five-second tests, we also gauge current target audiences' abilities to complete various tasks online and uncover their findability and usability challenges with the website.

Discovery

We learn as much as we can about each organization, their target audiences and their goals before any visual design work begins.

Finally we integrate our expertise with the organizational and audience data we've collected.

Our combined team experience is immense.

We are industry thought leaders and nonprofit conference speakers.

How we capture audience needs:

Site Analytics
User Surveys
Usability Testing
External Stakeholder Interviews
Personas
Navigation Workshop, Card Sorting

Then we gather and assess the target audiences' needs.

We use proven tools such as the content audit, message hierarchy, page description diagrams and style guide to identify, develop and refine the plans for the creation, publication and governance of useful, usable content for websites.

Our Approach: Collaborative Decision-making
“We have too much content! We just need to simplify, streamline, clean up, and pare down – a simple, bare-bones website.”

“My department’s content is the most critical for the homepage.”

“We need to present our organization online as the exciting vision and spirit of what we do – not as issues-based. When people visit our website, I want them to think: spirit, vision, pioneering, heritage, footprint, inspiration.”

Audience Personas

Through research tools such as website analytics evaluations, user surveys and personas, we gain a deeper understanding of the target website audiences, their attitudes, motivations, needs and behaviors.

User Research: Surveys, Personas and More
The visual design and user experience comes to life as our Web Dev project mates develop HTML and CSS for desktop and mobile devices, maximizing exposure to an organization's mission in a way that delights their supporters.
