Social and Ethical Responsibilities
Apple has been scrutinized for the longest for being one of the most successful companies and not having given back to the community.
In 2012, they attempted to change their public image with a $100 million donation.
Stanford University hospitals received $50 million of the donation
Another $50 million was donated to the African aid organization Product Red, founded by U2 frontman Bono and Bobby Shriver, nephew of the late president John F. Kennedy.
This is the largest donation Apple has made to date, but to put things in perspective the $100 million donated is only 0.1% of the company's cash holdings.
