Transcript of comic book project (APUSH)

Comic Books:
An American Story
By Joey Lefebvre and Sean Carney
The Golden Age of Comics (1938-1956)
The Silver Age
(1955-1969)
Came about because of the Comics Code Authority
Superheroes "lost their edge"
The creators and writers of the original Superman comic were ousted from the DC company
Made for a very silly and immature time for comics
Sales dropped, but led to more invention, which led to the creation of famous heroes today: fantastic 4, the Flash, Green Lantern
This era led to very conform ideas about women and spending time with and respecting elders.
