People on Maple Street
heard a sound of a roar and saw a flash of light over their heads.
"Power" went out on Maple Street-house lights, radios, cars, phones, TVs, stove, lawn mowers.
Pete Van Horn went to another street to check if they had their power.
Tommy didn't want anyone to leave because of the monsters.
Weird things happened-Goodman's car started by itself, house lights flicked on and off.
People started blaming each other for the weird things that happened.
They saw a dark figure in the distance and they didn't know who it was so Charlie got his shotgun and shot the man.
Then they walked up to the man and it was Pete Van Horn.
Charlie thought he knew who turned on his lights, he thought it was Tommy.
The neighbors didn't believe him and they started blaming each other again.
A mob formed and they tried to get the kid. Les-Les is confused in Maple Street. He is the one that his car starts and turns back off,so he tries to start it but it won't start.

Charlie-Charlie is worried in Maple Street. He is the one that shot Pete because he thought it was someone else or the thing that turned all the lights off

Steve-Steve is the main character. He was the first one to notice the ship.
Yes! We still think that fear causes more confusunion than facts.
