Jacob Karls The History of Video Games The History of Video Games Modern PC Games This Prezi Presentation shows the video game consoles throughout history, when they were made, what company they were made by, and how popular they were to the world when they were introduced. "Tennis-for-Two" was the first video game ever made, but it was not the first game that was sold to the public. Tennis for Two was a game where two players would use analogs to hit the tennis ball over the net onto the opponents' side. This"Tennis-for-Two" was originally on an oscilloscope, at the Brookhaven National Laboratory in New York. It was made by a nuclear scientest by the name of William Higginbotham, who worked originally on the Manhattan project. It was not commercially sold to the public. "Tennis-for-Two" A Japanese company, known as "Nintendo", was once a game card producing company. However, someone in the business thought 'hey, why don't we make video games?" and the idea stuck. so they invented the Nintendo Famicom. It was a very popular system. Nintendo then went on to invent the SNES(Super Nintendo Entertainment System), which was also wildly popular. It than came out with the Nintendo 64, which was extremely well known for games such as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 64, and Star Fox 64. Today, they have the Nintendo DS, which is a popular dual-screen handheld system, which includes a touch screen with a stylus. There is also the 3DS, which is the same as a DS, but is compatible with 3D. They have also created the Wii, which features the Remote and Nunchuk, both of which are not connected to the TV. There is to be another system known as the Wii-U to come out this next year. Through the ages of Nintendo Modern
Gaming However, one PC game is steadily rising with popularity, although it might not be quite as popular- at least, not yet. This game features fair graphics, even though they are far better than Minecraft's. A frightening game in design, this game is about the player moving through various places, finding pictures with certain messages on them. While on the lookout for these pages, the player is pursued by a nine-foot-tall figure with a plain white face, very long arms, and tentacles growing out of his back. This figure is known everywhere as... The very first video game console was the "Brown Box", and it is the first console that was compatible with more than one television set. The makers eventually added a "Light-Gun", and it evolved into the "Brown-Fox." This was not sold to the public. 1967 Duncan Wicklund Classics Several games throughout all of history will forever be considered classics, and will remain famous in arcades and in homes across the world. Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, and Defenders are several of these games. There are several games that have achieved popularity, not perhaps because of good graphics, or a neat story, but just because they're fun. Minecraft (pictured below) is one of those examples. Minecraft is a game where the player can fight enemies, claim treasures, and create a world of their own. ...Slender. 1958 ZOMBIE GAMES
This section talks about zombie-
survival games.
Zombie games are growing in popularity.
The Walking Dead TV show on AMC is going to have its second game come out in 2013, and that's going to have a lot of people into it.
Other famous zombie games have been
Dead Island(shown at bottom left), the DayZ mod (shown left), Left 4
Dead(bottom right), and The Walking Dead
(shown at bottom middle). Sequel of Ocarina of Time "Pong" Pong was the first video game to be sold commercially to the American public, back in 1972. It was originally in a resturaunt, and had collected so many quarters it was moved to arcades across America, and it became very popular. These are three of the best-selling video game consoles of this modern-day generation- Nintendo's Wii, Microsoft's XBox 360, and Sony's PS3. Halo Series Uncharted 2:
Among Thieves inFamous 2 Super Smash

series Overall, XBOX 360 and PS3 are far
more popular than the Wii, which does
not feature the same factors that make XBOX
360 and PS3 better. THE END Minecraft is one of the most popular PC games in this modern generation. Super Smash Bros. PS Vita Nintendo 3DS WiiU November 18th, 2012 Spring of 2011 December 17th, 2011 8th Generation 2007 Halo 3 to come out
