National Achievement Test (NAT) is a Philippine-made standardized test designed to determine pupils/students’ achievement level, strengths and weaknesses in five key curricular subject areas at the end of the school year.

The NAT was developed to measure what pupils/students in Grade Seven, Grade 10 and Grade 12 know and can do in five subject areas:
HeKaSi (Heograpiya, Kasaysayan at Sibika) in elementary and Araling Panlipunan in secondary level.

What is the NAT?

What is the purpose of the NAT?

Specifically, the test aims to:
empirical information on the achievement level
of pupils/students.
serve as guide
for policy makers, administrators, curriculum planners, supervisors, principals and teachers in their respective courses of action.
identify and analyze variations on achievement levels across the years
by region, division, school and other variables
etermine the rate of improvement
in basic education with respect to individual schools within certain time frames.
What is the purpose of the NAT?

continuously strive to keep up with the challenge with much openness and honesty. The institution’s administration intends to take advantage of the outcomes of the said test for potential improvement in the following areas:
strengthening of the curriculum;
upgrading the faculty’s instructional skills;
Guidance programs that cater to student motivations which contribute to academic performance and;
enriching learning resources especially for subject areas which appear to be the students’ weakness.

Important Reminders during the Test
You will answer all five subjects.
If possible, you are not allowed to leave the room once the test has started.
Do not open your Test Booklet until you are told to do so.
If you have any problem such as missing pages or words that are not printed clearly, raise your hand so I can help you.
Questions on the directions or on any test item will not be entertained after the test has started.

Important Things to Remember
Do not write anything on the Test Booklet.
A separate Answer Sheet is provided for your answers. For those answering Mathematics, you may use a clean sheet of paper for your computation but submit this to me after the test.
Use lead pencil No. 2 in answering the test. Mechanical pencils are not allowed
Remember to keep your Answer Sheet clean and free from unnecessary marks. DO NOT fold, crumple, or crease any portion of it, otherwise it may be rejected by the scanning machine.
Test-Taking TIPS
Eat heavy breakfast during the test date especially protein. Get a good night’s sleep.

Listen carefully to the directions. If you are confused, don’t afraid to ask the proctor, It’s free of charge.

On multiple item test, FORCE yourself to read each possible choice carefully before selecting an answer. Use the process of elimination. When in doubt, guess! Achievement test doesn’t penalize guessing.

Test-Taking TIPS
Skip difficult items on timed tests. After finishing all the easy items, you can return to any skipped questions and try to answer them.

Use leftover time to check answers.

Keep track if you are with filling the bubbles, make sure you are on the right number.
