Registered Nurse Overview: Registered nurses (RNs) work to promote health and to help patients with illnesses. Work with patients in hospitals, in doctors' offices, and in nursing homes. Task List: Keep records, reports, take care of patients, supervise licensed practical nurses and nurses aides, and examine patients. General work activities: Assist and care for others, get information needed to do the job, Communicate, and make decisions and solve problems Helpful H.S Courses: Anatomy and Physiology,

Skills and abilities: Communicate, Reason and Problem Solve, Use Math and Science, Manage Oneself, People, Time, and Things, Work with People, work with things, and perceive and visualize.

Physical Demands: Stand or sit for long periods, walk or run, use hands, speak clearly, and good hearing Working Conditions: work indoors, May work nights holidays and weekends, may be on call, exsposed to disease and infection, and work closely patients. Registered nurses must be licensed in Minnesota. Applicants must:graduate from an approved nursing program; and pass a written exam. Wages: $34.24 per hour and $71,210 per year Employment and Outlook: The outlook is very good because of the advancement in technology and there being more elderly Advancement: Registered nurses who have a bachelor's degree have more chances for advancement. Some career paths are open only to nurses with BSN degrees or even advanced degrees.

The Registered Nurse organizes the provision of nursing care to patients through the process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
