What is the story about
http://storycorps.org/?p=53704
This story remind me of......
According to his family and Jackson himself, the “King of Pop” had vitiligo, a condition that causes depigmentation of parts of the skin, which usually results in white spots on the patient’s body; these are even more noticeable if the person has a dark complexion as in Jackson’s case. The 1 in 250 or so people who have this condition typically first start seeing signs of it beginning between 10 and 30 years old. Approximately 30% of the people who have it also have it run in their family, which is true of Jackson.
-from Why Michael Jackson’s Skin Turned White as He Got Older
People are always cruel to them
Since he was a celebrity, a lot of people talked about his skin condition, some people even said that he was ashamed about his own race and wanted to be a white people.
Why am I so touched
Lindsay's father has vitiligo, he have never felt embrrassed. He even asked his kids to touch his face. He set a good model for lindsay and he shows he love to Lindsay always.
That inspires me......
I used to suffer from acne when I was a teenager. I know how exactly they feel when people are staring at your face. I hated myself and my parents very much at that time. However, from this story, I will never this feeling again. Everyone has their own problem. We don't need to feel embarrassed or ashamed.
The story is about a woman who has vitiligo. Her father has the same disease too. Although their face are different from others. They never feel ashamed. They face their lives bravely.
Even Cheri Lindsay, the heroine of the story is not a celebrity, people always regard her as a strange person or keep staring at her
When Lindsay found out she has the same problem, she was shocked at first then she accepted her face. She is always optimistic Even when a little kid was staring at her, she can make a joke about it
Also, I think we all need to show our respects and mercies to others no matter they are fat or skinny, ugly or pretty.
