Who is The COOL Girl in Leadership?
"
Men actually think this girl exists
.
Maybe they're fooled because so many women are willing to pretend to be this girl.
For a long time Cool Girl offended me.

I used to see men – friends, co-workers, strangers – giddy over these awful pretender women, and I'd want to sit these men down and calmly say:
You are not dating a woman
,
you are dating a woman who has watched too many movies written by socially awkward men who'd like to believe that this kind of woman exists and might kiss them."
Junot Diaz (author of "
This is How You Lose her
") was quoted:
"I wasn't really encouraged to imagine women as fully human. I was in fact pretty much-by the larger culture, by the local culture, by the people around me, by the people on TV-encouraged to imagine women as something slightly inferior to men."
Women Leaders are...

needy

and
sensitive
Roxanne Gay: "[Some] women say, I am mostly friends with guys, and act like [they are] proud of that like that makes you closer to being a man or something or less of a woman as if being a woman is a bad thing.
"The cool girl trope does not
describe a
whole
person.
She is a collection of attributes,
a list of someone's favorite things. The real issue is that we are still being boxed into
narrow
definitions of what we can be."
- Bim Adewunmi
"We
call
upon our sisters around the world to be
brave
- to embrace the strengths
within themselves

and realize their
FULL
potential"
~Malala Yousafzai
