The Dust Bowl
The 32nd President of the United States. He brought hope to American people and promised vigorous action. He spearheaded a number of relief efforts, called the New Deal. He is know for his saying "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself".
The End of The Great Depression
The bombing of Pearl Harbor and World War II helped end The Great Depression. Once the U.S. was involved in the war,both people and industry became essential to the war effort.
Dust Bowl, the name given to U.S prairie states who were suffering ecological devastation,in the 1930's. The problem began during World War I,when the high price of wheat and the needs of Allied troops encouraged farmers to grow more wheat by plowing and seeding areas in prairie states that were formally only used for grazing.The strong winds blew the soil into huge clouds called "dusters".

The economic crisis beginning with the stock market crash in 1929 and continued through the 1930's. During this time many lost their jobs, homes and money due to banks going under.
