Cardiovascular System Blood Pulmonary Circulation how to keep a healthy Cardiovascular system BloodVessels Hollow tubes that transport blood throughout the body RAVEN GREEN & Malachi Chourdy your heart is the pump that makes the cardiovascular system work. It never rests. Most of it is made up of tissue which is called Myocardium. This contracts and relaxes constantly and rhythmically. Blood delivers oxygen, hormones and nutrients to the cell and carries away waste that the cell produce the circulation of blood between the heart and lungs. It deoxygenated blood from the lungs and returns oxygentated blood back to the heart * avoid smoking: smoking deprives the body of valuable oxygen it stimulant and cause the blood pressure to rise
•*Exercise: participate in regular aerobic exercise for atleast 30 minutes, 3-4 times per week
* cut down stress: being stressed out all the time can cause an elevated heart rate
* eat healthy food: follow a well-balanced diet that is low in saturated fats, cholesterol and salt
* avoid legal drugs: including stimulants marijuana and ecstasy (MDMA) once a drug enters the blood stream, it can harm a user brain, heart, lungs and vital organs what are the major organs? heart what are two minor organs? Systemic Circulation carries oxygenated blood from the heart to the blood tissue and returns oxygen depleted blood back to the heart Vocabulary
* plasma: the fluid in which other parts of the blood are suspended
* hemoglobin: the oxygen-carrying protein in blood
* veins: the blood vessels that return blood to the heart The Cardiovascular system consists of the heart and all the blood vessels of the body. Its responsibility is to circulate blood, maintaining an internal environment in which all of the cells of the body are nourished. As your heart pumps blood, blood vessels carry oxygen and nutrients to body cells. Carbon dioxide is carried at this time with waste matter from the cells. Oxygen is delivered in your lungs and waste products to the kidneys for the removal from the body. related systems Lymphatic System: a network of vessels much like the Cardiovascular system that help protect against pathogens respiratory system: it consists of lungs and a series of passageway air travel DIAGRAM MLA CITATIOJNS PH.D MERKI, Mary Bronson
