The Statue of Liberty
by:Alix Question 1, What are the attributes of The Statue Of Liberty? The Statue of Liberty is 151 feet high. The length of her hand is 16 feet, 5 inches. Her tablet is more than 13.5 feet wide and 23.5 feet long. The tablet says July IV MDCCLXXVI on July 4, 1776. The statue is made out of copper and steel. With the base it weighs 27,156 tons. It is on its own island. The statue is a tall female holding a torch and a tablet. She has chains on her feet and seven spikes on her crown. The seven spikes on her crown stand for the seven seas. France gave the Statue of Liberty to the United States as a gift to remember the U.S Constitution. Question 2
What is the origin of the Statue of Liberty? The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France to celebrate 100 years of freedom. the statue symbolizes freedom and democracy. Frederic Auguste Bartholdi designed with Alexadere Gustave Eiffel. Bartholdi sailed to New York and found an island that was called Bedloe's island. He formed a group of French and Americans to help pay for the statue. Alexandere Gusatave Eiffel designed the steel and iron frame. Question 3
What is the value of the Statue of Liberty? The Statue of Liberty is very meaningful to the United States. The statue is a symbol of freedom. The statue is a symbol of friendship between the United States and France. The statue represents equality. When people see The Statue of Liberty they remember that the United States stands for freedom and human rights. No more slavery and opportunity.
