90s Music

Introduction
During the 90s there was a revival of previous types of music from previous centuries. The 90s covered many different types of music however the most influential movement was the
grunge
movement.
90s pop
Like many other era’s the 90s has their fair share of overproduced pop music. Though the music sounded “good” to most people and it was structured well, and it was very heavily marketed. During the 90s a popular artists was the Backstreet boys.
Rock
Similar to other time era's Rock remained a very popular style of music. Often artists would do cover's of older songs.
Hip hop and Rap
During the 90s Hip hop was undergoing it's
Golden Age
. During the Golden age, many styles of music were being reinvented into something completely new (Hip Hop). It was often characterized with the term
skeletal beats
. Rap was similar though rather them the actually music it was more focused on words spoken rhythmically.
Grunge
Grunge could be defined as dirty, greasy, unclean or anything in between.

movement was likely the most important musical style it was not the only one.

Punk rock was originally started in the mid or late 70s. During the 90s punk rock was making a comeback, and becoming more popular with the success of several bands.
Alternative Rock was originally a more underground genre during the 80s until it's break through in the 90s. Britpop was a different version of Alternative Rock that was more British influenced

Acid Jazz
Although acid jazz had begun in the 80s following the success of The Brand New Heavies, several other bands began creating similar-sounding music in the 90s. Towards the mid-late 90s Acid Jazz started to drop in popularity quite a lot.

A few very popular bands became more mainstream during the 90s from Seattle - Pearl Jam and Nirvana
Influenced by Hardcore Punk/Rock and Heavy metal.
