Ethos, Pathos, Logos
Transcript of Ethos, Pathos, Logos
The Snuggie! Like most of the world I have fallen in love with this backwards robe that is marketed as a Snuggie. This project gave me the perfect excuse to further analyze the commercial in which it is marketed, and break down the reasons why it just makes sense to buy a Snuggie! I would like to start off first by having you all view the two minute commercial. Pay close attention and see if
you can find examples of ethos, pathos, and logos. Let's talk Ethos: The tone of the narrators voice
The upbeat music
Who doesn't trust an elderly woman?!
Good looking men and women
The college student
No one likes being cold; you're happier when you are at a comfortable temperature
You can wear it to sporting events with your friends and in your "drafty dorm room"
The upbeat music makes you excited and joyful
And my personal favorite, you can cuddle babies and puppies (who doesnt love seeing babies and puppies in commercials)
Now, how about Pathos: Last, but not least, Logos: You dont want to raise your heating bill
Blankets "slip and slide" and your arms pop out; you want to eat popcorn, get on your computer, answer your phone, work the remote, and read books, so a blanket with sleeves just makes sense!
It is made with "Ultra soft, thick, luxurious fleece
It's machine washable so it is good for YEARS of warmth
It comes in assorted colors AND you get a booklight
It's a $60 package being sold for ONLY $14.95 And this ladies and gentlemen is why I have purchased, used, and fallen in love with my snuggie!! It was ethos, pathos, and logos at its finest.
