Ramadan 2013
What is Ramadan?
But
WHY?
REFLECTION
Dates
EID!!!
The islamic calendar follows the moon . so the beginning of the month of Ramadan is decided when the crescent moon appears in the sky.
During this month muslims abstain from food, drink, smoking, sexual intercourse, music and swearing.
Sawm (fasting) is one one of the 5 pillars of Islam, it is an obligation on all those who have reached puberty.
...from sunrise to sunset
During Ramadan there is a prayer called
'Taraweh'
, it's like a
night
prayer. During these prayers, which take place every night over the 30 days; the imam (leader of prayer) recites the whole
Qur' an
throughout the nights of
Ramadan
.
