Ellos nadaron ayer. To use present progessive you use the verb estar plus a special ending of -ando for AR verbs or -iendo for ER/IR verbs. ESTAR

El esta nadando. to use future you must use the present tense of the verb "ir" plus an infinivite verb. Example:
We are going to swim.
