Transcript of Alexander Stephens' Cornerstone Quote

Our government is founded upon the exact opposite idea (to the idea of equality in the Declaration of Independence) its foundations are laid, its cornerstone rests upon the truth that the negro is not equal to the white man That slavery - subordination to the superior race is his natural and normal condition. This ,our new government, is the first in history of the world based upon this great physical and moral truth. Alexander Stephens
Vice President
Confederate states of America March 21, 1861 in Savannah, Georgia Sorry - but I missed where
you said this was all about states' rights.... The cornerstone is the part of the
building that the foundation can be built upon.

Your job will be to take a quote from

Abe Lincoln showing the cornerstones or foundations

of his beliefs about the United States and slavery

and create a visual of a cornerstone quote!
