about 1 in 4 people suffer from a mental illness

youth between the ages of 16-24 are most vulnerable to such illnesses
the condition can feel horrific, complicated and very painful
may feel helpless
may become involved in self-harm (cutting, trying to commit suicide)

Without the proper and effective treatment, psychosis can become overwhelming in the lives of the individual and families.
Early Intervention is the answer!
listening to music
working out / staying active
better decision making
take out a piece of paper and pencil
when the music begins, start writing about anything bothering you, stressing you out or in your mind
DON'T WORRY! none will read this... you are free to write what you like
SOME RULES: write in cursive, don't cross your T's, dot your 's or leave a space between words,
at the end, rip up your letter into small pieces!
Stream of Consciousness Writing
I've noticed someone close to me who is currently recovering from psychosis use a similar technique in which they write down a reflection of feelings, things bothering them and strange voices and about strange dreams they had
this helped them get out what was bothering them without telling anyone else or causing discomfort to themself or anyone else
this activity helps you become less stressed as it allows to you release all emotions, such as anger, grief, sadness, etc.
in this activity, although you aren't talking to someone, you are getting out the problem or things that are bothering you so you feel better
you can do it anywhere as long as you have a pen, paper, and music
