POWERS

A Cerberus is a three headed dog with a serpent's tail, a mane of snakes, and a lion's claws. He guards the entrance of the underworld to prevent the dead from escaping and the living from entering.His looks could frighten many mortals and demigods. It was also very large, and ferocious, with sharp teeth that can slice flesh. It was said that Cerberus had a poisonous bite. The poison that drips onto the ground sprung up as a plant that is known as a wolfsbane.He allows only the spirits of the dead to freely enter the underworld, but allows none to leave. Cerberus was always employed as Hades' loyal watchdog, and guarded the gates that granted access and exit to the underworld.
CERBERUS' ROLE IN GREEK MYTHOLOGY

Cerberus role in greek mythology was to guard the underworld. He let only the spirits enter but never come out. He also kept the living from entering

STORY

One story is when Hercules with the approval of Hades , the god of the Underworld, gets Cerberus in a choke hold, knocks him out, and kidnaps him. He is eventually returned to his post where he remains to this day. Cerberus, Guardian of Hades is an unmatched force for anyone trying to get in or out of Hades without express permission.
INFLUENCES ON HUMAN BEHAVIOR

Cerberus is a scarce and ferocious dog who Hades hired to stop people from entering the underworld. So like Hades, people today have bought guard dogs that are mean and ferocious, like Cerberus, to prevent robbers from entering there homes.
INFLUENCES ON HUMAN BEHAVIOR

Cerberus made people fear entering the underworld. He achieved that by never letting people escape the underworld.
