Inventory Control is the supervision of supply, storage and accessibility of items in order to ensure an adequate supply without excessive oversupply.
At coca cola :
Inventories consist primarily of raw materials and packaging (which includes ingredients and supplies) and finished goods (which include concentrates and syrups in Coca-Cola Company's concentrate operations, and finished beverages in finished product operations). Inventories are valued at the lower of cost or market. Coca-Cola Company determines cost on the basis of the average cost or first-in, first-out methods.
Everything is robotic; nothing is done by the human hand.
Coca-Cola Enterprises, Coca-Cola Amatil, Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (CCHBC) and Coca-Cola FEMSA, but fully independent bottlers produce almost half of the volume sold in the world.
What is materials handling?
(raw materials, scrap, semifinished, and finished) to, through, and from productive processes; in warehouses and storage; and in receiving and shipping areas.
