Her family was a poor black family. Bessie had 5 sisters and 3 brothers birth order Lilah, Alberta, Walter, Isaiah, John, Bessie, Nilus, Georgia, and Elois. Her parents name were George and Susan Coleman.
Robert Abbot helps her get to France.
