Atlanta Braves baseball team How did the Atlanta Braves baseball team get their name? The team became the Braves for the first time in 1912. Their owner, James Gaffney, was nicknamed "the Brave of Tammany Hall". Tammany Hall's symbol was an Indian chief named Tammany The "Braves" name, which was first used in 1912, originates from a term for a Native American warrior. They are nicknamed "the Bravos", and often referred to as "America's Team" in reference to the team's games being broadcast on the nationally available TBS from the 1970s until 2007, gaining a wide fanbase. The Atlanta Braves are a professional baseball team based in Atlanta, Georgia. The team came into existence in the year 1876; it was first established with the name of Boston Red Stockings. The “Braves” name was derived from an expression for a Native American warrior, in 1966. Their pet name is “the Bravos”, and they are also known as “America’s Team” we are bias for the Atlanta Braves name because first of all we dont think its offensive and there are a lot of people and fans who enjoy watching baseball. the logo is not offensive
