Earth's Structures Crust The outer layer of the Earth. It is 22 miles deep under land. And 6 miles deep under the ocean. Mantle The portion of the Earth, about 1800 miles thick, between the core and crust. Outer Core The liquid layer of the earth, about 2,266 miles thick, made of iron and nickel. Inner Core A solid sphere in the center of the liquid core. It is completely made of iron. FUN FACT IF YOU WENT TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH YOU WOULD DIE IF YOU LIVE YOU WILL BE IN CHINA IF YOU LIVE YOU WILL BE IN CHINA Lithosphere The lithosphere is the lower crust and upper mantle. The region below the lithosphere. Asthenosphere By: Madison Walter, Levana Osher, Sara McMahan Fun Fact The mantle is 932 to 1652 fahrenheit near the crust and 7230 fahrenheit near the core.The outer core is 4400 celsius near the mantle and is 6100 celsius near the inner core. The inner core is a estimate of 9800 fahrenheit
