Telling stories
When you want to tell a
story or a past event,
use past tenses.
Past Simple
Past perfect
In a town in Persia, there were two brothers Cassim and Ali. Kasim was rich, while Ali Baba had to maintain his wife and children by cutting wood in a forest.
One day, when he was cutting wood in the forest, he saw a troop of men on a horseback. As, he was so afraid, he climbed into a tree and waited.
Ali Baba and the forty thieves
He was so fearful, as he had never seen this number of thieves, he counted they were forty.
A man who seemed to be the leader said these magic words: ¡Open Sesame!
And forthwith appeared a wide doorway in a rock, and they went in.

Ali baba waited until the thieves came out, they returned as they came.
Ali baba climbed down, walked to the door and said: ¡Open sesame!
and went into the cave
In the cave he found all kind of treasures. He carried as much as he could. And he said ¡Shut Sesame! and went back home.
At home he told his wife his good fortune while he was telling her, he had a great idea he wanted to know how much it was. As they didn't have a measure his wife decided to go to borrow one from Cassim's wife
While they were measuring the gold, one piece got stuck at the bottom. Once, Cassim's wife got the measure noticed the gold and wondered how Ali would have gold. She was suppecting of them.
Cassim asked Ali , and Ali told him what has happened with cave and the thieves. cassim has made up his mind and decided to go to the cave alone.
Once in the cave, he carried as much as he could he had many bags full
