Transcript of How are global winds similar to local winds?

Global Winds
Global winds and Local winds are both created by unequal heating of Earth’s surface.

How are global winds similar to local winds?

Local winds occur over short distances and global winds occur over a large area.

2. How are global winds different from local winds?

uneven heating of the earth by the sun

3.What causes global convection current?
an effect whereby a mass moving in a rotating system experiences a force acting perpendicular to the direction of motion and to the axis of rotation.
On the earth, the effect tends to deflect moving
objects to the right in the northern hemisphere and to the left in the southern
and is important in the formation of cyclonic weather systems.

4.What is the Coriolis effect?

How is the Coriolis effect different in the Northern Hemisphere than the Southern Hemisphere?

The Coriolis effect makes the 2 winds from the northern hemisphere go straight and right.
The Southern Hemisphere’s winds just go right. And that is how the Coriolis effect makes the Northern and Southern hemisphere different
