Relatiomship between Clave, Bo Diddley beat, Shave and Haircut and the Hambone dance. The origin of the word Hambone refers to the daily activities of the early african american slave communities. Hambone is a dance created by enslaved african american in North America. Forbidden to use their drums, slaves became creative and found ways to make rhythms by hand clapping, body and thigh slapping and the use of bones and tambourines. The Clave The Clave is a rhythm used by Afro-Cuban music. This is what holds the rhythms & entire song together. Clave transitions to Key Stone. The instruments that are used are two wooden sticks & it is played by hitting them together. There is two main clave rhythms, They are the Son Clave & the Rumba Clave. They all have very similar patterns & rhythms. It is known that all these rhythms have influenced other artist & song writers. Through the use of their creativity, they managed to express themselves in a musical manner.
