Transcript of Venus

By Tim, and Marcus
There are poisonous substances like carbon dioxide(CO2) and sulfuric acid(H2SO4).
It has a surface temperature of almost 462 °C (900 °C), this place is hot enough to melt lead.
There is crushing pressure, which is 92 times greater than on earth.
The beautiful white clouds are made out of sulfuric acid.
There are also elements of sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide and hydrogen chloride.
Surface winds blow at speeds up to 186 mph (300 km/h) in the upper atmosphere.
Since Venus has a heavy atmosphere and lots of pressure, you would be crushed by it.

Those are some reasons us humans have never set foot on Venus
Differences to earth
Similarities to Earth
Surface area: 460,200,000 km²

Gravity: 8.87 m/s²

Venus's diameter is 12,104 km

Venus's mass is 4.867E24 kg.

Venus is the sixth largest planet in the solar system. Venus is 5% smaller than Earth
Size
Orbit
Venus takes 222.7 days to orbit around the sun.

Venus is 108,200,000 km away from the sun

Venus has no moons, rings or natural satellites.
Surface
Venus has many mountains and craters. It is covered by clouds of water vapor and sulfuric acid. Two thirds of Venus is covered by flat, smooth plains with thousands of volcanoes. There are lava flows carving long, wide canals up to more than 3,000 miles in length which are longer than any other planet. Venus's atmosphere creates a green house effect. Why? Venus's Atmosphere is made out of thick Carbon Dioxide clouds that let the sun's heat in, but doesn't let it out. That's why Venus's temperatures reach up to 462 degrees Celsius
Venus and earth compared
Dangers of Venus
-One day on Venus is 243 days on Earth.
-Earth has 642 more km than Venus in Diameter.
-Earth is heavier in mass.
-Earth is has 50,072,000 more surface area than Venus.
-Earth's rotation is Prograde(Counter clock wise). while Venus's is Retrograde(Clock wise).
-Earth has a layer called the Ozone layer that protects Earth from the Sun's ultraviolet radiation. Venus does not, so as a result, almost all of Venus's water is gone.
-If you weigh 100 pounds on earth, you would only weigh 91 pounds on Venus, but you wouldn't feel the difference
-Venus has so many volcanoes that it is possible to be the planet with the most volcanoes in the solar system.
-Venus has no moons
-Since Venus is the closest planet to Earth, it appears as the brightest planet in the night sky.
-A few million years ago, Venus would be even similar to Earth than it is now
-Venus's atmosphere is far thicker than the Earth's, making it hard to see inside.
-Venus is also known as the Roman Goddess of Love and Beauty.

The composition of Venus is pretty similar to Earth, with a core made out of metal, a mantle made out of liquid rock, and has an outer crust of solid rock.
Composition
-They are almost identical in size.
-Venus is 95% the diameter of Earth.
-Venus has about 82% the mass of Earth.
-Venus has about 91% the pull of gravity you feel on Earth.
