Children under the of 2 should not view many screens because their brains are at a high developing stage
Only 2 hours should be allowed to people ages two and up
Even the creators of Facebook agreed by posting, “Birthday cakes are made for people to be together. They give friends a place to gather and celebrate. But too much cake probably isn’t healthy. So birthday cake is a lot like Facebook.”
Types of Technology
It can affect people in many different ways in the future
Most kids are going over the proper amount of screen time
Technology helps Autistic children
We should only see a maximum of two hours a night
Table of Contents
The Technology people are addicted to
How it Affects People
Proper Amount of Screentime
Eye contact is affected because it is easier to look at a screen rather than someone face to face
Talking to people by phone and email for your job can be more of a challenge because we need to know how to write in a proper form
In a personal conversation, you need to make sure you are able to listen to people and answer in ways that don’t come across as awkward, unconfident etc.
When in public places, sometimes people are too caught up in there cell phones that their spacial awareness is poor and may take up more spaces than needed
Technology has caused the average attention span of 12 and lowered it to only 5 minutes
When people grow up playing/watching a violent, drama queen, or crime, they are partially taught these traits while growing up
Monkey see, monkey do
How it affects babies, kids and teenagers, and adults
Proper amount of screentime
Cell Phones/iPod/iPad
Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr etc.
People are starting to use things like Echoes, Wii, or Xbox Kinect to help with autistic children’s social skills
According to Healthy Ventura County About
2/3 of children under the age of two spend around 2 hours a day of screen time
4.5 hours is the amount of screen time a day spent by children under the age of six Screen
time spent a day by those ages 8 to 18 is 7 hours
98% of people between the ages of 18 - 24 have a social networking account
Echoes is a touch screen TV with a virtual character they interact with to implement these skills into the real world
Some beg to differ saying since it’s easier to
talk through technology, we are just avoiding
the subject more by allowing them to connect
the way the way their comfortable to speak
not making it easier talking to those
in person
