Transcript of Tom Kenny
Who Am I?
Tom Kenney, Paul Tibbitt, Stephen Hillenburg all helped to make Spongebob a hilarious and exciting show, it probably wasn't easy to make all the shows from 1999 to 2014. That has to be a lot of shows.
Tom kenny found Paul Tibbitt and made him his co-executive producer and he became the voice of Potty the pirate. In 2004 the Spongebob Squarepants Movie came out on November 14 2004.
When He Was Born
Tom Kenny was born July 13 1962. Tom Kenny heard that the Chipmunks and Muppet's played Christmas songs so he decided for Spongebob to have a Christmas song too. They say that the Christmas song he made: Don't be a jerk, was on of the funniest songs on the Spongebob series. He had to work very hard on that song.
How He Came Up With Spongebob
Tom Kenny came up with the idea of Spongebob in 1999, while working on the animated series Rocco's Modern Life, he met a marine biologist and animator Stephen Hillenburg. Way before Rocco's Modern Life, Hillenburg wrote a comic book series called The Intertidal Zone in 1989, then a friend of his told him he should create a animated series based on the book. Hillenburg started drawing a square sponge and he thought it was funny, just then he found his character.
How It Got Started
After Stephen Found his character he thought of the name Spongeboy, and the title was Spongeboy Ahoy. But Kenny wanted Spongebob, Hillenburg decided to go with Spongebob and took the the name Squarepants as his family name, and they thought it had a nice, catchy ring to it. The series premiered on Nickelodeon at May 1 1999.
During 2000 Spongebob's second season it was a commercial success! Kenny also does other voices as Gary the snail, the french narrator Spongebob's father Harold Squarepants, and last but not least Patchy the Pirate. Kenny also does other voices of of other T.V. shows
Tom Kenny got help from A LOT of people, but he mostly got help from two people. Paul Tibbitt, Stephen Hillenburg. Tom decided to give the role of Potty to Paul Tibbitt. He's only on a movie or an important show for Spongebob. Patchy is the a pirate who introduces Spongebob at the beginning of a Spongebob movie.
In addition to Spongebob Squarepants, Kenny has over 200 voices in other T.V. shows. Kenny says that he does a lot small, sweet yellow people for some reason. Tom Kenny is not an adult he's not a kid, he's like a munchkin type of child-man.
Have you ever heard of Spongebob? Do you know who made him, well if you don't I'll tell you. His name is Tom Kenny. He also does a bunch of other people on that show but I'll tell you about them later. Tom Kenny also has voices on other shows like Adventure Time, Power Puff Girls, Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends, AND MORE.
Tom Kenny probably worked really hard to animate Spongebob to make it hilarious and an exciting show. He's probably made over 100 shows for everybody. That must be a lot of time for him to work.
Tom Kenny met his wife Jill Talley in 1992 while working on The Edge in 1992. Jill Talley also played Karen on Spongebob as Plankton's computer wife. Turn's out that they both love Spongebob.
Some people say that Tom Kenny left Spongebob because of his other things he has to deal with. I don't think Tom Kenny left Spongebob because he made over 100 episodes and didn't leave for all the time in the world. Tom Kenny is hilarious and naive, both in Spongebob too. I really hope that Tom Kenny doesn't stop making Spongebob episodes.
