PHASE CHANGE NOTES
Transcript of PHASE CHANGE NOTES
When the particles are moving fast and freely.
It states that the volume of a gas is inversely proportional to its pressure if the temperature and the number of particles a constant
it states that the volume of a gas is directly proportional to its temperature in kelvins if the pressure and the number of particles of the gas are constant.
definite shape and volume
A reaction must absorb energy from its surrounding in order to occur.
A phase change is when the states of matter turn into different forms. LIKE...
From a liquid to a gas it is know as evaporation. The particles were moving around freely and now the are moving fast a freely.
BY SKYLAR BAER
A solids particles a usually close together and and neatly arranged.
A Liquid particles move freely... more than a soild.
when a liquid turns into a solid it is called freezing when the particles used to move freely and now they are arranged and organized
And from a solid to a liquid it is called melting. The particles eventually go from a orderly arrangement to a motion where they are roaming freely
movement of a liquid
When a gas turns into a liquid that is know as condensation. The particles were moving fast and freely and now they are moving, but not as fast.
From a solid to a gas it is know as sublimation. When the particles go from very organized to a very fast motion.
Deposition is also know as the phase change between a gas and a solid.
It is the lowest temperature possible.
Both liquids and solids has definite shape and only a liquid has definite volume.
A reaction occurs and then releases excess energy to its surrounding.
when particles are changing in a phase change the motion of the particles is known as kinetic energy. This is also know as the kinetic theory the motion of particles.
Solids have a strong force of attraction and gases have little to no force of attraction. Liquids are right in the middle.
