Falling Action Resolution Point of View This has an unknown narrator but it addresses the reader so this is second person point of view. Conflict The Conflict is Man vs Man and Good vs Evil An example of this would be the main conflict between Jean Valjean and Javert Opinion of the book This book honestly was hard to follow. It had some extremely uninteresting descriptive parts, but some exciting romance and action. My advice if you want to read the unabridged copy, read either summaries of it or the bridged copy first. So it is easier to follow and understand it. The book starts out describing the bishop's life and deeds. Then moves on to describe Jean Valjean who is a convict being released from a French prison after serving nineteen years for stealing a loaf of bread and attempts to escape from prison. He arrives at the city of Digne he takes shelter at the bishop’s house. He repays him by stealing the bishop’s silver but the bishop ends up giving it to him as a gift.
