From A Buick 8 By: Stephen King From A Buick 8 is a novel about our fascination with deadly things, about our insistence on answers when there are none, about terror and courage, in the face of unknowable. ~Stephen King Summary Nobody knows what it is, or where it came from. But ever since a man in a black coat randomly left his night-blue '54 Buick at a gas station, It has belonged to Troop D, of Straton Pennsylvania. However, this is no ordinary car, and Curtis Wilcox wants to know the secret behind it. He wants to know why whenever a living object crawls inside, it dissapears and a day or so later, a creature not from our planet will be found in the trunk. But in the summer of 2001, Curtis Wilcox has recently died in a horrible automobile accident, and his son Ned begins to hang around the Barracks, and learns dispatch. But when he discovers the old Buick being held out in Shed B, he wants to know the story. The whole story. And who better to tell it, than the people who experienced it all? What I think: From a Buick 8 was definatly one of Stephen Kings Best Books. It had a very unexpecting plot behind it, and he always found good ways to make the boring parts better. I love how he told the story within three points in time. I would give this book 5 stars, and I will definatly reccomend it to all Stephen King fans. From a Buick 8 was a lot like a book that Stephen King wrote back in 1983 called Christine. I took the time to watch that movie. They had differences, but they were both about classic cars possesed by something, that tried to kill people. Christine About Stephen King: Stephen King is an American Horror story author. Sometimes, it talked about being on duty and in a cruiser, but it was rare. For most of the book however, (the part in the present) took place sitting on the smoking bench located somewhere behind the building, where they could see Shed B very easily. Yay for clashy colors.
